Entrepreneur Bootstrapping Business Idea – Become an Entertainment Promoter

Promoters can create quite a living for themselves by finding a group with a certain talent (musical, comedy, theater, and public speakers) and then getting them connected by booking gigs at various venues. You will get paid by various methods.

If the entertainer is big enough, you can occasionally get a percentage of the show. For a lesser-known entertainer, you may just charge a flat fee. For some people you will just promote a single event, for others you may have to set up an entire tour.

The promoter will take charge of marketing the event as well, sending posters and promotional material ahead of the entertainer. This can also turn into a manager role, if you enjoy the touring part of the entertainment business. However, the business can easily be run from your home.

Many entertainers are not very good marketers, or they are just too busy working that they don’t have time to get their name out. This is where you will come in. As a promoter you take care of all the little details about getting the jobs for the person.

You can advertise you promotion business by putting in a lot of face time at concert venues or other locations where you wish to meet your clients. Make sure you have professional full-color business card printed on quality paper. Use the entire card, explaining all of the services that you might provide your client.

You can get to know the sound person, or other people that make work with the entertainers in order t get your name out there. Contact venues in advance and learn how they pay their entertainment so that you can immediately relay that information to the client without having to get back to them.
